This Charity is very close to my heart, I alongside the co-founder Lee Dickinson set up The Jean Foundation.

We originally decided to set up a charity to help vulnerable children and young people, who face daily barriers with their social skills, behaviour, confidence and self esteem. Those that are hard to reach and have difficulties in mainstream education.

Lee Dickinson -

“Our vision at The Jean Foundation, is to provide equine support to those who are most vulnerable in our community. The equine support we use provides the children and young people the opportunity and skills to muck and skip out the horses, feed them, groom them, walk them in and out, ride them and also be a part of a working farm and alongside this work with others to aid their confidence and communication skills.

We are still a new charity and we were able to draw down a small pot of lottery funding which enabled us to run our first project. An extremely successful project with positive outcomes for all involved.

We are passionate about making a difference to the children and young people's lives and we also passionately believe that equine support is an excellent and successful way in which to support this.

We know Oisin is equally passionate and we are so proud to have him as a trustee and to be a hands on part of the charity and we look forward to being able to expand and provide further opportunities in the future”.
